PTFE hoses are used in many industrial applications. Appropriate care helps extend service life and maintain reliable operation.

Inspection and handling

  1. Inspect the hose regularly for damage and wear. Remove defective assemblies from service and arrange replacement.
  2. Clean after use where the service procedure requires it. Use a cleaning medium and method compatible with the process fluid and the complete assembly.
  3. Avoid severe mechanical impacts that could damage the tube or reinforcement.
  4. Before storage, remove chemical residues using the approved cleaning procedure.
  5. Store hoses in a cool, dry location protected from direct sunlight.
  6. Avoid kinking and twisting during transport and handling.
  7. At low temperatures, ensure the selected hose retains the flexibility required for its installation.
  8. Do not exceed the specified working pressure or temperature.
  9. If end fittings require replacement, use components and assembly procedures that meet the manufacturer's specification.
  10. Before each use, confirm that the assembly is in a serviceable condition.

Operating limits

PTFE hose assemblies can be designed for a range of pressures and temperatures. Their limits depend on the model, diameter, reinforcement and end connections. General material properties must not be used as the working limits of an assembled hose.

Consider the conveyed substance, operating conditions and surrounding environment when selecting and maintaining an assembly. Follow the installation, operating and maintenance instructions for that particular product.

Regular inspection and timely replacement help maintain performance and reduce the disruption associated with unexpected failures. Product-specific ratings and maintenance requirements are available on request.
